Dance Physiotherapy in Balwyn North
Dancers ask a lot of their bodies, and they need physiotherapists who understand what dance demands. Both of our dance physiotherapists have a dance background themselves, so they know how to keep you dancing safely, get you back after injury, and prepare you for milestones like going en pointe.
book dance physiotherapyHow we help dancers
- Dance injury treatment: assessment and treatment of dance-related injuries, with a clear plan to return to class, rehearsals and performance.
- Pre-pointe assessments: a thorough check of alignment, foot and ankle strength, core and hip control, and growth stage to decide whether a dancer is ready for pointe work.
- Strength and conditioning: targeted exercise to build the strength, control and flexibility dance requires, including physio-led Clinical Pilates, which was originally used to condition dancers.
- Technique-aware rehabilitation: we look at dance-specific movements such as relevés and pliés, so your exercises carry over to the studio.
