Postnatal Physiotherapy & Lactation Consultant in Balwyn North
Recovering from birth and getting feeding right often happen at the same time, yet they’re usually treated separately. At Kobodi Wellness Studio, our combined postnatal physiotherapy and lactation consultation looks after both: your body’s recovery and your baby’s feeding, in one appointment, with one practitioner.
Consultations are with Gracia Anggraini, our principal physiotherapist and a lactation consultant with a Diploma in Breastfeeding Management through the Australian Breastfeeding Association. We see babies of any age.

Initial consultation (60 minutes)
This comprehensive session addresses the physical demands of new parenthood alongside the mechanics of feeding:
- Your physical assessment: we check your postpartum recovery, including pelvic floor health, abdominal separation, and any neck or back pain linked to feeding postures.
- Oral and feeding assessment: a gentle check of your baby’s oral anatomy and a full observation of a feed to look at latch and positioning.
- Feeding ergonomics: we combine lactation advice with physiotherapy techniques so you’re comfortable while your baby feeds effectively.
- Your plan: you’ll leave with a plan covering breast health, supply management and your own rehabilitation exercises.
Follow-up consultation (45 minutes)
Feeding and recovery change as your baby grows and your body heals. Follow-up sessions review latch comfort, your baby’s weight gain and your own pain levels, and adjust your feeding positions as your baby grows to prevent repetitive strain. They can include hands-on physiotherapy and support with return-to-work plans, pumping routines or starting solids.
What to bring
Please bring your baby, your usual feeding pillow, and any equipment you’re currently using, such as a pump or nipple shields. If you can, time your appointment so your baby is ready for a feed shortly after you arrive.

Ongoing postnatal care
Once feeding is settled, many mums want to rebuild strength safely. Our physiotherapists Hanh-Nhi Huynh and Katharine Ng also see clients for pre and postnatal pelvic floor and exercise management, and our Clinical Pilates sessions are a supportive way to return to exercise.
